This year marks the 85th anniversary of the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). Known for its rich historical heritage, exceptional dancers, and world-class stage productions, ABT performs not only classic works like "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," and "Giselle," but also collaborates with top contemporary choreographers to present modern ballet works.
This year's six-week summer season will be held from June 10 to July 19, 2025, at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Highlights include the New York premiere of "The Winter's Tale" directed by Christopher Wheeldon, and the 25th anniversary performance of Kevin McKenzie's version of "Swan Lake." Additionally, Royal Ballet's Reece Clarke and Dutch National Ballet's Olga Smirnova will appear as guest artists. ABT Principal Dancer Gillian Murphy will bid farewell to the stage in the July 18 performance of "Swan Lake," concluding her 29-year career with ABT.
